Book Review: The Christmas Countdown by Holly Cassidy

aawww this was such a heartwarming chrismassy Book, really makes me wish christmas is here already!

Callie, having her heart broken by Oliver, is tasked by her sister Anita to complete the advent calender tasks.  Soon she and Marco develops crushes on each other and their romance blossoms in the christmas landscape.

I really like Anita, and how different she is from Calie. Her love for her sister is so strong and vice versa and their relationship is able to weather all kind of storms.

Marco is a very sweet guy, even though the misunderstandings happen but he still hold space for callie and understands her emotions.

I love the advent calendar tasks too, so creative yet able to be relatable to all the characters involved.

Book Review: Fated Skates by Victoria Schade

Reading this book really made me miss ice skating

Quinn is training for the olympic gold medal and Benny ( who has a past with Quinn) – to get a spot with the score, decides to make Quinn’s comeback a story to propel him into the company.

I really like how the author showcase the logistics of the competition, how the skaters feel, what kind of emotions they go through leading up to the competition. The book also covers athletes who have “retired” due to controversy . I was more invested in Quinn’s story and comeback , rather than quinn and Benn’s romance

Book Review: Home no matter where by Nancy Naigle

This story was so awesome and wholesome, as always by Nancy Naigle.

Fisher is trying to be satisfied with his own life, a life that he built from all the mistakes he makes and he feels happy now , but still feels something is missing. Nina has moved her daughter kendra to the small town so that they can start over. Fisher and Nina slowly develops a romance, but Nina always has to put Kendra first above her own needs.

I really like Nancy’s flow of writing, the plot is steady, it is not rush, there is nothing missing but everything is described in detail, allowing the readers to feel the emotions of all three main characters.

Of course Tug and Rosmary are supporting characters this time round, having their own story in the previous book but they still provide a strong support to the story here.

Wow one of the best historical fiction book I have read.

The events, though some exaggerated still kept the story relevant and the main characters were much loved.

I loved looking up on what i read as well and it was really interesting to see what really happened.

Book Review: The Summer of Second Chances by Miranda Liasson

I read the first book which was based on Tony and Hadley, and this is based on Darla and Nick.

Darla is a strong warrior, cancer survivor, but she always worry if it will return. This book brings us through her emotions and worry about the illness, her second chance relationship with Nick and also how friendship matters in times of crisis.

I like that Darla had a strong network of support when crisis happens. It is very important especially so when one is ill , so that she or he can turn to her network of support .

Nick is also very supportive, wanting to have a second chance and decided to be brave and not run away like he did previously.

Book Review: The True Love Bookshop by Annie Rains

This book was a cute read. Tess owns a little bookshop and is still moving on since her husband died. She comes across River ,whom she treats as a nemesis as he was the one who disagreed at her wedding. Little did she know that River will come into her life and develop a relationship with her.

This book has a nice pace, the setting was really cozy. It took me a while to finish it as the book was so comforting that i always read it on my bed . This book is perfect for those romantics out there who love books based on small cozy towns

Spain deserved to win given the way they played, but my heart goes out to Argentina. I was rooting for them all the way but when lisandro and enzo got off the pitch, I knew it was not possible. Kudos to Emi martinez , he really did so many solid saves in that match. I hope Messi won’t retire yet, still looking forward to see him play in 2030.

For the past 3 weeks I have been sleeping at 7pm and waking up at 2am/3am/4am . I didn’t realise i was so deprived of sleep even though i slept so early! Last night i slept at 8pm but woke up at 5am . Time to go back to my usual sleep cycle!

Book Review: coming home to seashell harbour by miranda liasson

Hadley Wells, after being dumped by her boyfriend in Hollywood, returns to her hometown with the intention to restart and also to help her grandmother ‘s business. However she bumps into Tony, her childhood sweetheart who broke her heart years ago. In addition, Tony is also looking to buy the place that the grandmother wants to sell. In their intense rivalry also happens to have a cute romance.

I liked the way this book gives a homely feel. Everything was so cozy and nice, the dialogues , the pace was really spot on.

Hadley though independent still have feelings that she wants to suppress whevener she sees Tony. and vice versa. It is so cute to include the dogs as well and how they worked together to protect the dogs in the building and pushing their rivalry aside

Out of these 3 , I liked liberty and rex story the most. It was so romantic and loving, with each pinnin g for each other and eventually ending up with each other.

The main thing about this book was how the scarf connected one another, and romantically as well.

Love at First Book By Jenn Mckinlay

When I read Paris is always a good idea, I cried. This second book that i read from the same author , i cried.

Emily Allen, flees from her narcissistic mother and move to a small irish village to work at a bookshop whose owner (Kier)dislikes her. And as an assistant for her favourite author – siobhan. Even though the romance between Emily and Kier was funny, full of witty banter and a slow burn, it was really her relationship with Siobhan that captured my heart and resonates with me.

I really like how Siobhan became like a mother to her, guiding her and pushing her , treating her like her own daughter. Even when there were mini problems between Emily and Kier, Siobhan still encouraged her. I mean, we all need some encouragement in life right?

This is a perfect book, with some tissues .
